The Minister of Youth and Children will provide overall leadership in developing and directing ministry to teenagers and children from first grade through grade twelve and their families. This will include evangelism, group building, worship, discipleship, missions, outreach, and such other ministry involvement that serves to attract children, teens, and their parents to Marble City Baptist Church and ultimately to a saving faith in Jesus Christ and a growing relationship with Him.
The Minister of Youth and Children reports to the Senior Pastor for spiritual and ministry guidance. The Senior Pastor, in conjunction and cooperation with the Personnel Committee, provides an annual evaluation of the Minister of Youth and Children’s performance.
Minimal qualifications for the Minister of Youth and Children are:
-Exhibit a personal and growing relationship with Jesus Christ, have a teachable spirit and a healthy family home,
-Have a call to full-time vocational ministry,
-Have a passion for working with youth and children,
-Have a degree in a ministry-related field,
-Doctrinal agreement with the stated beliefs of Marble City Baptist Church as expressed in the church’s constitution and by-laws,
-Have a demonstrated ability to plan, develop, coordinate, manage, and implement a youth and children’s ministry within a local church.
-Maintain a regular time of Bible study, prayer, devotion, and personal spiritual growth
-Participate in worship services as directed by the Senior Pastor
-Work well with the Senior Pastor and other ministerial staff to coordinate various activities and develop growth and unity within the entire church
-Maintain contact with students and parents, keeping them informed of ongoing activities, ministry strategies, and plans that promote partnership and involvement
-Network with other evangelical youth and children leaders in the community
-Develop youth and children in their spiritual and social development by instructing and teaching children and youth to understand, study, and apply the Bible to their lives
-Actively recruit youth, children, and families through church supported activities and programs in the community
-Minister to the needs of children, youth, and their families in times of crisis – i.e. hospitalizations, death of family or friends, other physical, emotional, or spiritual needs
-Oversee youth and children ministries such as, but not limited to, Wednesday night activities, Sunday Night activities, Summer activities, VBS, etc.
