Interim Music Minister

First Baptist Church, Hamilton

Interim Music Minister to lead two Sunday morning services, Sunday night service, Wednesday night service, and work with the existing choir, praise teams, and musicians. Hours and days worked along with salary will be negotiated. This is a part-time job essentially. FBC Hamilton will hire a permanent, full-time music minister once we have a permanent, full-time pastor in place. For this job, we will provide a 1099 Federal tax form at the end of the year, but we are not offering health or insurance benefits until the position becomes full-time. For a minister who drives a distance to be with us all day Sunday, we will provide a hotel room for him (and his family if applicable) to rest on Sunday afternoons between morning and evening services. We also pay mileage in addition to regular compensation for miles traveled to Hamilton, Alabama, for this position; mileage rate will be the Federal 2018 standard rate of 54.5 cents per mile. ~~~ FBC Hamilton currently worships with a blend of contemporary praise music and more traditional hymns, with the emphasis being more on the contemporary side. We use piano, organ, drums, electric guitar, and acoustic guitar.

Applicant should be a believing Christian who has familiarity with Southern Baptist churches and doctrine, and he should possess technical skill in music and music leadership. Experience and a college degree from an accredited institution are a real plus, but are negotiable.
