The minister to students will direct and oversee youth ministries, educate and minister to youth in the ministry of the church and follow up with youth visitors.

Anticipated Time Commitments

1. Doing ministry/preparing for ministry: forty hours a week, off on Saturday and one day during the week, except for emergencies and special occasions.

2. Participating in meetings and training minimum one hour a week.



Give direction to and oversee the youth ministries.
Identify the needs and interests of youth within the church and community.
Plan and develop programs for both ministries.
Evaluate existing programs to determine effectiveness.
Identify and provide ministry opportunities for youth.
Meet monthly youth ministry leaders to pray and to discuss upcoming events, challenges, solutions, and praises.
Recruit youth workers as needed. Provide training for youth workers as needed. Plan one major training/inspirational workshop a year.
Provide counseling and spiritual direction to youth on an individual basis.
Participate in outreach ministry to youth who have visited the church: visits, letters, etc.
Lead midweek Bible study.
Plan at least one yearly youth retreat and at least one camp or mission trip for the
purpose of spiritual growth.

Visit youth and/or their families who are hospitalized.
Develop the youth budget and track expenditures throughout the year.
Compile a youth directory, have copies made and distribute to leaders and workers.
Facilitate the transition for children who are rising to the youth ministry.


Seeking a Full-time Student Minister with:

·      Education: 4yr degree from a university/Bible college, preference given to Master’s level seminary education

·      Experience: 2 years of full-time youth/student ministry

·      Ministry skills:

o   Strong in Bible knowledge and application

o   Strong communicator (preaching/teaching and interpersonal/discipleship)

o   Able to facilitate worship for Student Ministry mid-week service

o   Musical/worship leadership skills are a plus

o   Willingness and ability to invest in students in schools and community

o   Ability to organize/plan/coordinate student ministry events and communicate well with students and parents

·      Characteristics/Passions:

o   Relatable, Approachable, Accessible for student and parents

o   Able to nurture and build deep relationships among students

o   Lead with integrity, be a mentor for student, give an example to follow
